About Movement, Music & Machines

Generative AI for Music and Movement

Generative AI is alarmingly underdeveloped in music and dance, missing out on vast opportunities. While the visual arts have seen a surge in AI-generated content, music and dance have been left behind. This project aims to change that.

Building tools, exploring boundaries

“Movement, Music & Machines” is a creative lab of musicians, dancers and software engineers who are building tools and exploring methods that might push the status quo of generative AI and bring a new level of collaboration between music and dance, whilst also challenging the traditional hierarchies between those art-forms.

The Future of Music and Dance

Our aim is three-fold:

  1. Bring dancers, musicians, and software engineers together, through workshops and hackathons
  1. Build generative AI tools for tomorrow’s artists
  1. Democratize the use of AI in music and dance
