Hosted by Nils Kakoseos, Mira Buus & Mark Schellhas, this event was the first in a series of workshops on AI, music and movement — bringing dancers, musicians and software engineers into the same room in Stockholm.

“AI is more than just chat”

So far, AI is synonymous with chatbots and self-driving cars. But what if we could use this emerging technology to create new forms of expression?

The aim of the event was to bring together people from different backgrounds to explore the boundaries of movement, music and AI, through a mix of talks, performances and hands-on workshops.

What we covered

  • How generative AI models can be prompted by movement instead of text
  • Using the body as a controller and a machine learning model as the sound generator
  • Where the hierarchy between music, dance and lighting can be challenged
  • Practical, hands-on experiments for dancers, musicians and engineers

The event was held at Twang, Katarina bangata 25, Stockholm, Sweden, starting at 18:00 CET.
