In this event, we looked back at the progress we had made so far and discussed what was next for 2024.

An instrument played by movement

We looked at the progress on Nils’ project: using AI and movement to create a new kind of instrument, with the body as a controller and the AI as a sound generator. Instead of choreographing dance to a finished track, the dancer’s movement generates the sound as it happens.

What’s next

The workshops continue to bring dancers, musicians and software engineers together around the same questions: can movement control sound, is generative AI fast enough for real-time music, and can AI challenge the hierarchy between music, dance and lighting?
